Helen Kennedy's Blog

Home

I’m Helen and this is my blog. I only write about things that interest me which is why food and golf appear top of the list of blog posts!

I follow the ladies professional golf tours, both the European LET and the LPGA and most years manage to get to the British Open.  Before security tightened up I managed to get some excellent photos of the winners,  but now, things are trickier.  For good photos I go on the practice days, the players are usually very accommodating and do photos and autographs happily for the keen fans who turn up to watch before the competition starts.

Sadly I’ve only made it to one Solheim Cup.  Killeen Castle in Ireland was fantastic the people so friendly, the Irish hospitality was second to none and on final day – after a rain delay when things got really tight atmosphere was incredible.  Can’t wait for Gleneagles next time when hopefully the Europeans will finally prevail. I have my B & B already booked!

The photos on this site are mainly my own.  I’m a keen but very amateur photographer – I hate seeing myself in photos, so much prefer to be behind the camera.

My other passion is food. I’m lucky to live in the south of England surrounded by great restaurants and gastro pubs. I’m very lucky because my local pub is Michelin recommended. Of course eating there is more of a celebratory experience but it’s lovely to be able to share a bottle of wine with friends and then walk home afterwards.

I also enjoy traveling. I was a bit of a late starter in this respect, but now I’ve discovered the joys (and the food) of different countries I can’t wait to pack my passport and get going!
